Two in three banks target operational efficiency to grow corporate banking business.
We asked 107 transaction bankers from 73 banks what they saw as the main drivers for growth in global transaction banking. As the c-level looks to this steady line of business to deliver continued stellar results, process inefficiency is singled out as the main challenge to continued bottom line growth, in an increasingly margin constrained business:
• 69% said the main challenge to growth was operational inefficiency across payments, trade and cash
• 84% said that increasing payments processing efficiency was a top priority
• 56% said streamlining the trade finance business was key to future growth
