Misys Healthcare Systems Launches Misys Pharmacy IMM Solution at ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting 2004

Misys Healthcare Systems will launch Misys Pharmacy IMM™ at the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) 2004 conference. Misys Pharmacy IMM is a patient-centered, integrated, browser-based pharmacy information system that manages every aspect of medication management.

WHAT:  Misys Healthcare Systems will launch Misys Pharmacy IMM™ at the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) 2004 conference. Misys Pharmacy IMM is a patient-centered, integrated, browser-based pharmacy information system that manages every aspect of medication management.  Part of the Misys Optimum™ product family, as a departmental solution, Misys Pharmacy IMM can reduce medication errors, significantly improving patient safety.  When used with Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) and computerized physician order entry (CPOE), this integrated medication management process achieves maximum reduction in medication errors and adverse affects to patients.
In addition, Misys will conduct demonstrations of its Misys CPR™ with CPOE and Misys Insight™ clinical information management solutions.  The combined products provide continuous medication surveillance, documentation and control to help streamline drug therapy throughout the entire medication management process.

WHY:  L.L. Leap et all “Systems Analysis of Adverse Drug Events” published in JAMA 1995 reports 39 percent of medication errors occur during the physician ordering process, 12 percent during the transcription of the order, 11 percent as a result of faulty dispensing, and 38 percent at the point of administration.  Misys strives to help hospitals reduce those errors with Misys Pharmacy IMM, Misys CPR and Misys Insight.
  • Misys CPR is a fully integrated computer-based patient record system with CPOE that "closes the loop" by capturing all charting and medication-related activity - from acquisition of drug products to the actual delivery of the drug to the patient.
