Misys Wholesale Banking demonstrates prototype of J2EE / Thin-client version of Misys Message Manager
New J2EE / Thin-client product developed in partnership with Sun and SWIFT
London and Atlanta, October 11th 2004 – Misys Wholesale Banking Systems (Misys) has redeveloped its successful Message Manager product and is showing a prototype of the new product on its stand at Sibos. Misys Message Manager is an integral part of trading for many banks, since it allows them to handle the different messaging standards that are now used in global banking. The new version, available from Q2 2005, has been developed in partnership with SWIFT and Sun to ensure that it benefits from the latest technology and offers customers better functionality.
Following the introduction of SWIFTNet and other standards such as ISOXML, ISO 20022 and with message volumes increasing rapidly, more and more banks are looking to consolidate their systems, rather than rely on a branch-by-branch approach. As a result Misys’ Integration Toolkit and Message Manager application have been fully redesigned and redeveloped with assistance from Sun to offer a new solution based on J2EE / Thin client technology. The product is fully scalable so that it can handle the predicted growth in message volumes, the increasing number of new messaging standards and to work on a global basis supporting the trend towards global and regional messaging hubs.
Barry Kislingbury, Product Manager for Message Manager at Misys Wholesale Banking comments: “This new version of Misys Message Manager allows us to provide an even better standards based solution to our customers global messaging needs. As more banks move towards using messaging hubs and the SWIFTNet single window, we needed to provide them with a product that has all the functionality and benefits of our successful Misys Message Manager, but offers scalability on a global level and is thin client based. The new version does exactly that. We look forward to helping our customers migrate in 2005.”
A prototype of the new Misys Message Manager will be available on the Misys stand E096 for customers to view and see in action during Sibos. Meanwhile, the existing Misys Message Manager product has been accredited with the SWIFT Ready Financial EAI Gold for the past 3 years and has been awarded accreditation in 2004 once again.
“We appreciate and recognise the enthusiasm and professionalism shown by Misys to obtain the Financial EAI label for Misys Message Manager in 2004,” said Olivier Roucloux of SWIFT. “We look forward to exploring new business opportunities together with Misys and continuing the evolution of Misys Message Manager and the SWIFTNet single-window.”
