CC-Bank signs £multi-million contract with Misys Retail Banking

Misys to provide new core retail banking system to support European roll-out

1 September 2004 – CC-Bank, the consumer finance subsidiary of Santander Group in Germany, has awarded Misys Retail Banking a £multi-million contract to provide an international core retail banking system, critical to the bank’s modernisation and European roll-out. The Misys solution, Equation, will consolidate two legacy systems and standardise the bank’s IT infrastructure enabling CC-Bank to centralise customer data and provide 24/7 online account access for its 3.1 million customers.

The implementation of the Misys solution will also significantly enhance the bank’s international expansion capabilities, streamlining its systems and allowing the bank to replicate its business model across Europe. Basel II and IAS functionality will also allow the bank to meet new international rules as well as all German-specific regulatory and banking requirements. The first phase of the installation of the new system, Equation, will go live in spring 2005, and the roll-out will be completed over three years.
Mr. Manfred G. Hanke, Managing Director of CC-ITS GmbH, the IT Services Company of CC-Group: “We support the CC-Group’s strategy to expand internationally, particularly across Central and Eastern Europe in countries such as Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary. The new core banking system from Misys will allow CC Bank to replicate the local country business model across other countries.”
Andrew Derrer, CEO of Misys Retail Banking, said: “CC-Bank is the biggest independent provider of car loans in Germany and also number one in financing consumer goods. We have an excellent track record in the successful delivery of financial systems in Europe and the functionality specific to the German market, such as Bundesbank returns and domestic payments and regulatory requirements such as Basel II and IAS accounting. Our expertise in the international retail banking software market will not only enable the bank to modernise its systems and improve customer service but also give CC-Bank the capability to roll out across Europe. Retail banking is a major focus for Misys and this win is another big step forward in our continuing success in Western Europe.”
The Misys solution can be easily integrated with CC-Bank’s existing front-end IT systems. This will ensure the customer experience remains familiar and the bank’s customer-facing staff training needs will be minimised.
