Summit Grows Distribution Network in Asia With New Focus on Korea
Summit Systems has announced that it is actively growing its distribution network throughout Asia, adding a strategic distribution channel in Seoul, Korea to its existing operations in Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney and Tokyo. Summit is partnering with its sister company Misys Wholesale Banking Systems, who recently opened an office in Seoul. Summit is leveraging the extensive distribution network of Misys in the region with further arrangements being made with system integrators in Korea and China to achieve its goals.
The Summit market expansion programme is being led by Marc Coutelier. As Summit’s Asia Manager, he is responsible for supervising the sales and support facility plus optimising the global sales and support network of Misys to the benefit of Summit. “I have been focused on the Asian market for the past 6 months, ensuring we have the right people in place to implement and support the products we sell. Local knowledge and language skills are highly important. Due to global deals signed with tier 1 banks, we already have a large number of existing clients in the region and are now focusing on new markets such as Korea to grow our business in Asia. Donnie Choi is the Misys Sales Manager in Korea and he has done a fantastic job building business over the past 18 months. I expect that the addition of Summit expertise in the region will further fuel this growth.”
One of the Summit experts that is now based in the Misys office in Seoul is David Cassonnet, Summit Korea Director. Cassonnet moved to Seoul in September 2003 and has since been managing the team dedicated to supporting Summit clients in the Asia Pacific region. He has been with Summit for more than 6 years having previously been Manager of the Front-Office Treasury team and a Back-Office Consultant in Summit’s Paris office. Cassonnet has been working closely with the Misys Asia-Pacific team, “I have been training a full-time dedicated Asia-Pac team to support Summit clients in the region including an expert from the Korean financial software market. This will ensure that our solution complies with Korean accounting practices and market specifics.”
The team will be further enhanced with Summit expertise in December when Raymond Tan moves to the Singapore operation - he is currently a Senior Technical Specialist in Client Services at Summit in New York. Tan brings expert knowledge of its recently launched web/thin client product, Summit FT, to the region.
