Misys Healthcare Systems Announces General Availability Of Version 8.0 Physician’s Solution Suite
Misys EMR® 8.0, Misys Tiger™ 8.0 and Misys Vision™ 8.0 Live Across 65 Provider Organizations
RALEIGH, N.C. – (May 23, 2006) – Misys Healthcare Systems, a market leader in healthcare IT, today announced the general availability of its newest releases of Misys EMR, Misys Tiger and Misys Vision. These latest releases of the company’s electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management (PM) solutions for provider organizations of all sizes – from solo practices to large group practices to health systems – mark Misys’ ongoing commitment to deliver healthcare IT solutions which are easy to integrate, implement and utilize. Though May 15 marked the general availability of these solutions, over 65 provider organizations are actively using these latest versions of the EMR and PM offerings to provide improved patient care and operate their businesses at a higher level. Many have consistently used this robust solution for several months and report such benefits as improved workflow, expanded connectivity options and effective decision support.
“Our practice has worked with Misys Healthcare Systems since April 2002 and has not looked back since. Using Version 8.0 is just the next stage in our partnership, which we have long valued because of the continuous support we have received through the years,” said Howard Wright, a D.O. with Dearborn Family Clinic, PC, in Dearborn, Mich. “Because Misys truly understands the needs of physician practices like mine, they have enhanced Misys EMR 8.0 with a more robust e-prescribing solution, faster speed and new templates. An added benefit is the ability to instantly receive information from ePocrates without having to change screens. Our clinicians are already reporting an improvement in the level and quality of patient care they are able to deliver to the community. That is priceless.”
Misys EMR 8.0 provides physician practices with powerful tools to access and incorporate patients’ medical information that is generated outside their practice – thus improving the usability and value of the electronic medical record. Misys Vision 8.0, a powerful enterprise practice management system for medium and large practices, still shares a single, integrated database with Misys EMR, and now includes a comprehensive suite of patient management, administrative and reporting applications to improve productivity, enhance revenue and increase operational efficiencies. With the February 2006 acquisition of Payerpath, Inc., Misys further expanded its revenue cycle management capabilities through a state-of-the-art Web-based application that processes health claims. Misys Tiger 8.0, a practice management solution for small and mid-sized physician practices, offers product enhancements including anesthesia billing and integration with Misys PatientLink, the new patient portal that improves physician practice productivity and increases patient satisfaction by improving communication between each group.
“With so many healthcare IT vendors to choose from, my practice partnered with Misys Healthcare Systems because it’s a company that has a deep understanding of our practice’s unique needs and responds with user-friendly products and services that support the highest level of care,” said John Ray, MD, of Pinnacle Family Practice in Fayetteville, NC, who has been in the beta program and has Misys EMR 8.0 live in his practice. “The streamlined product is among the easiest to work with, because each version’s improved functionality and enhancements have been influenced by those of us who use the technology every day as we treat patients. I have been particularly impressed with this release’s expanded ePrescribing capabilities. ”
“Misys Healthcare Systems remains dedicated to our vision of empowering caregivers with data that transform decision-making, while achieving true interoperability across the health care spectrum,” said Rob Kill, President of the Physician Systems business unit at Misys Healthcare Systems. “Our robust product line offers end-to-end solutions for practices, from first patient touch through collection of payment for services. The significant number of sites already successfully using these new releases demonstrates our leadership in understanding and responding to the unique needs of the healthcare industry.”
