Misys to Demonstrate Transparency in Development Models to Improve Healthcare Delivery at HIMSS
ORLANDO, Fla. (February 26, 2008) – Misys plc (FTSE: MSY.L), the global application software and services company, today announced that it will demonstrate the impact of connectivity within the healthcare industry at the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in Orlando, Florida, February 24 - 28. The utility of Misys Open Connect ™ Solutions and Tools will be on display at the Misys booth (No. 1601) where conference attendees can see how integration with other open source solutions shows true interoperability and transparency.
“Misys is demonstrating its value to the open source community by providing an open source integration solution that leverages the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) infrastructure and uses IHE use cases to show how interoperability can work – all in less than 60 days,” said Bob Barthelmes, executive vice president and general manager, Misys Open Source Solutions.
Misys will also unveil an interoperability approach that enables electronic communications between an expectant mother in her home and a provider in an office as well as between a provider’s office and the hospital – all using disparate systems that are transferring relevant patient documents and information.
“Through this demonstration, which includes various solutions available to the open source community, Misys shows how individual healthcare information system components actually work together,” said Tim Elwell, vice president, Open Source Initiatives – Healthcare, Misys. “To our knowledge, this is the first time open source has been a part of this solution. As a result, we are beginning to alter the landscape of healthcare delivery.”
